Greetings everyone and Happy Holidays! MSQ recently moved into its Open Beta, meaning you can sign up for a profile and explore all the site has to offer! From Monday to Friday we bring you some of the best projects the cryptosphere has to offer. From NFTs and DeFi to Blockchain games and the Metaverse, you’ll find it all right here on MSQ! Today we bring you our 2021 MSQ NFT Recap where we feature some of the most popular projects of the year!

The Digital Mother Lode

Hundreds of NFT projects are created every day, and several are featured on MSQ every week! But as with anything in life, some of these stand out and are more popular than others. Whether this is because of their art, community, core team and/or features is a matter of opinion. Either way, we’re going to take a look at three of the most popular projects featured on MSQ this year, namely Lazy Lions, Splinterlands & The Doge Pound! Let’s go!

Lazy Lions

Lazy Lions has to be one of my favorite NFT projects of all time! The community has no chill and I literally see them every minute I’m on Twitter—it’s definitely a special one to belong to. Lazy Lions is a collection of 10,000 unique lion NFTs. Hidden in a secure, top-secret location, The Lazy Lions Private Island is open exclusively to the VIP members of the Lazy Lion community. The visionary artist behind this incredible project that has taken the world by storm goes by the name of Rizzio . Each Lazy Lion is one of a kind and programmatically generated from over 160 different traits including clothing, manes, expressions, and so on.

One of the best parts about Lazy Lions is their ROARwards program. Every month, every Lazy Lion holder receives some ETH simply for owning and holding on to their Lazy Lion(s). All of this is as a result of royalties that arise from the sales of Lazy Lions NFTs.

Lazy Lions also features Bungalows, banners that allow you to display your NFTs. How you may ask? Well, the team developed a dApp that allows you to select different NFTs to display on the banner by simply connecting your MetaMask wallet. You can customize your own Lazy Lions Bungalow with NFT artwork here . Finally, the team is working on a Lazy Lions Play-to-Earn (P2E) game that will be released along with community prizes in the near future.

Next up we have Splinterlands, a trading card game built using Blockchain technology that allows users to play and trade anytime and earn every win. Players compete for a limited reward pool of the Splinterlands in-game token called Dark Energy Crystals ($DEC) as well as provably rare and valuable NFTs from daily quests and bi-weekly season rewards. Participants battle for glory and riches or may decided to passively rent out their cards if they so wish. At the time of writing, there have been $4,811,505 in tournament prizes awarded. That’s pretty crazy!

Splinterlands makes it easy to earn on a daily basis. Players can win rewards from Tournaments, Ranked play, and Quests. No matter your skill level or collection size, there is always an opportunity to earn! Among the many prizes players may win are collectible cards of varying rarity, card packs, magic potions, and Dark Energy Crystals (a tradable digital currency that can be used to buy items in the shop).

The Doge Pound

Finally we have The Doge Pound, an NFT collection that consists of 10,000 art pieces carefully chosen by Professor Elon. Each NFT is expertly designed, specially picked, and impeccably shaped. Owning a Doge Pound NFT grants you full creative and commercial rights, as well as inclusion within the Doge Pound community.

In terms of longevity, the project has already established a community grant fund with an initial amount of $30,000. This will be a means by which artists, developers, and other individuals can increase utility or create additional art for the Doge Pound community. Moreover, 2.5% of OpenSea fees will go directly to the community grant program for an indefinite period of time. As an added bonus, The Doge Pound released Doge Pound Puppies which effectively serve as companions to the original collection.

The team are in the process of getting the Doges ready for the Metaverse! After completion of the Roadmap, the path of this project will be determined by the various members of the project’s community. From what it appears, the intention is to make The Doge Pound community one that is tightly knit, active and a fun place to be!
